Frequently Asked Questions

I thought I would try to answer some of the questions I get asked most frequently. If there is a question you want answered which is not listed, please get in touch.

1. How would you describe your style of Wedding Photography?

My style is very natural and relaxed, I prefer to focus on capturing the day as it happens, rather than dictate to my couples what has to happen when, or setting up fake situations, solely to take photos. I am often complimented on the relaxed nature of my shooting style & the emotions and joy I capture from Brides, grooms and guests alike. I still like to ensure that my photos have an artistic edge to them, this is achieved by the way I take and edit the photos.

 2. I'm not very good at having my photo taken, but still want beautiful portraits of myself and my new husband/wife. What can you do to help?

I often have couples where either one, or both parties, feel they do not know how to pose, or stand when taking photos. I will ensure that you feel relaxed and will often take the couple away for a walk around the venue, so that the couple portrait shots are taken away from the view of guests. I will also have met you prior to the day, so will be able to talk you through what we will do and then during the actual photos, if I feel you are a bit stuck for how to stand together, or what to do, I will give you gentle instruction within your comfort zone. I love capturing people candidly, so I will take lots of natural un-posed photos which always capture people in their best light, with real smiles, laughter & tears, these are always some of my couple's favourite wedding photos.

3. Once the wedding is over, how long will I have to wait to see my wedding photos?

Your edited photos will be ready within approximately 4 -6 weeks of your wedding date. Some photographers may promise very short turnaround times, however I have a keen eye for detail, so I like to take the time to ensure every photo is fully maximised and edited to make you smile. This means that I will often spend up to 30 hours editing and finalising your collection of photos.

4. Will my photos have any sort of watermark on them?

Simple answer to this one, no, all images will be watermark free.

5. Will I get copyright of my wedding photos?

You will have full copyright permissions, to copy, share, print, email, or anything else you wish to do, for any personal use. If you want to make several copies of the photos and share them with friends and family, they will be granted the same permissions.

6. Do you provide an online gallery of my final edited wedding photos?

Yes, this is accessed using a password and PIN number that I will provide to you. The gallery will remain live for at least 6 months, this can usually be extended on request.

7. Can my guests get copies of  the photos from you?

Your photos will be available for guests to buy prints via your online gallery, they will also be able to download any of the photos in high resolution, completely free of charge via your online gallery, however they will need the password and PIN that I provide to you.

8. If you haven't photographed at my venue before, how will you know where to photograph and the best places for group and couple      photos etc?

Photographing at a new venue is always exciting, venue permitting, I will arrange to visit the venue prior to your big day, to get to know the layout and choose the best places to photograph etc.

9. I really want a physical photo album as well as digital copies, do you provide albums?

Wedding Albums can be added to any Wedding Photography Package, details of costs can be found on my prices page. I usually bring some to my free consultations so you can examine them in the flesh too.

10. What areas do you cover?

The majority of weddings I photograph are in Chester and the surrounding areas. I also cover most of Cheshire, Liverpool, The Wirral, and North Wales. Further afield destinations can also be covered for additional fees. I will also consider any requests for overseas weddings and can discuss this with you in more detail if you get in touch.

11. Have you photographed same sex weddings before?

I have photographed several same sex weddings in & around Chester and approach them in the exact same way I

would approach non same sex wedding photography. So please get in touch if you are looking for a photographer for your same

      sex wedding.
